To-date, the Company has produced several thousands of hours of programs including single programs, series and documentaries. It has acquired rights to produce Russian versions of a number of top Western series and game and entertainment shows and is one of the most consistent producers of TV series and entertainment programming.
The Company has extensive working relationships with many of Russia’s leading broadcasters. It also owns a library of licensed programming with high re-run potential, which allows it to play an active role in the regional content markets and be favorably positioned among cable networks.
Market
With about 20% of annual growth, the Russian TV content market is estimated to have reached $1.7-1.8 bn in 2006 and $2-2.1 bn in 2007 (excluding news and political content). This market has been one of the world’s fastest growing, but it is fragmented with around 15 players. Most are closely affiliated with the largest broadcasters and specialize in a certain genre.
