Chelmsford-based Kewill Inc., a multimodal transportation software provider, signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Four Soft, a publicly listed software firm based in Hyderabad, India.

According to Kewill in a statement, the “game changing” acquisition is expected to be completed within 90 days and is a direct effort to strengthen the company’s leadership position in supply chain execution.

Kewill and Four Soft did not respond to requests for comment regarding the pending transaction.

Kewill, founded in 1972, focuses its business on three product suites: logistics, transportation and shipping and B2B integration. Kewill’s current customer base exceeds 7,000 inclusive of big name companies such as Bayer, Black & Decker, DHL, Hankyu Hanshin, Hitachi, Ingersoll Rand, Mothercare, UPS, Scott’s & Co. and TNT.
