This startup Company is developing a high quality wood pellet production facility in South Serbia. The Project will produce wood pellets from beech wood, which is readily available in the region. The target market is the environmentally conscious European Union, primarily Italy.
According to official data, there are about 235 million m3 of wood stock in Serbia, which is dominated by beech with 73 million m3. The P?injski district of South Serbia is very rich with wood and is one of the best locations for pellet factory. According to official data from Public Enterprise SrbijaĊĦume (Serbia Forests), wood stock in this area is close to 9 million m3, with an annual net increase of 125,000 m3.
The Project production capacity is planned for 4 tons per hour, which would provide approximately 28,000 tons per annum of wood pellets. The Project has so far obtained a location permit and initial building license, defined the required production equipment and contacted suppliers, made contacts with potential customers, completed market research, and obtained a land plot in a future industrial area.

Dynamic growth in wood pellet consumption started ten years ago and continues in all major world markets. World demand for wood pellets stood at 3 million tons in year 2000 rising to more than 20 million tons in 2009. This trend is expected to continue in coming years, particularly in the environmentally conscious EU markets.
