Eurofarma, a Brazilian pharmaceutical company, has bought laboratory Laprin, based in Guatemala – the sixth acquisition of the group outside of Brazil since 2009, when it started its internationalization process. Now the company wants to build a factory in Venezuela and make an acquisition in Mexico by 2015, said Maria del Pilar Muñoz, Eurofarma director of new business and sustainability, in an interview with Valor. This is the group’s second acquisition this year – the first happened in February, in Peru. With the deal in Guatemala, the company will have access to markets in Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Belize.
