Yesterday, Paris-based Olma Invest SAS announced it has invested €1 million in Dimeres, a group of e-commerce and e-marketing companies operating in the field of fashion, in exchange for a 25% stake.
Founded in 2011 by French entrepreneurs Maximilien Jacquet and Frédéric Bonelli, Dimeres has adapted successful shopping models from Western markets. Among the Dimeres online properties is ModaKupi, a comparison shopping engine that covers more than 100,000 fashion products from all major Russian e-retailers. Another property is WebKupi, which offers an innovative display format to advertise products and generate orders from third-party sites.
“Our products are the first of their kind in Russia,” Jacquet said in an exchange with East-West Digital News. “While some comparison shopping engines already exist in Russia, such as Yandex Market and Torg.mail.ru, none of them is focused on fashion like Modakupi. As for WebKupi, it offers a type of affiliate marketing that simply didn’t previously exist in Russia.”
Dimeres claims its properties reached a total of 14.8 million unique Russian-speaking Internet users in March – an audience comparable to that of major players like Biglion.ru and Avito.ru, and even Facebook in Russia. The 14.8 million unique monthly users generated 330 million page views and 2.5 billion product views.
