Cloud services provider Infochimps Inc. has been acquired by a giant based in Virginia.

Computer Sciences Corp. bought Austin-based Infochimps, but the company hasn’t issued an announcement. On Tuesday, Infochimps CEO Jim Kaskade posted a lengthy blog with a headline that asked what a $15 billion tech company would do with an open source-based big data startup.

Kaskade confirmed the acquisition Wednesday but said financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company will remain in Austin as a division of CSC and become part of a 900-person group focusing on big data, he said.

Infochimps, founded in 2009, develops big-data systems for enterprise companies. The company employs 30 workers.
