Google Inc. dominates India’s nascent Internet advertising industry – so much so, that the country’s antitrust regulators are investigating the company for anti-competitive practices.
But the U.S. tech giant isn’t the only option for Indian companies looking to monetize their websites or market their brands online. Indeed, the sector is getting more interesting as local companies get more aggressive and raise the capital to grow and compete with Google.
Among the emerging players is Mumbai-based digital ad startup Komli Media. On Tuesday the company is expected to announce a $39 million investment round led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from Nexus Venture Partners, Helion Venture Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Western Technology Investment.
