As expected, Mitsubishi Chemical, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings has now finalised its purchase of the compound activities for TPE and PVC from Belgian speciality company Tessenderlo. The two companies had initially announced the plans in February 2013 – see Plasteurope.com from 04.03.2013. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The anti-trust authorities have given their approval of the acquisition.
The transaction affects four production sites in France (two locations), Poland and China as well as a R&D facility in Belgium and a total of 360 employees. Revenues in 2011 were EUR 120m. Tessenderlo’s compounding unit was known as CTS (www.cts-compound.com).
